How I Can Help 8 South
During the first week of school, we spent a considerable amount of time getting to know each other and discussing what it means to be part of a community. One of the activities that students participated in involved students reflecting on their personal strengths and weaknesses.
First, students were asked, “What do you need help with, from your classmates and teachers, so you can have the most successful year possible.” Students were told that this information would not be shared within the community, so they could write anything.
Second, students were asked, “What can you offer your classmates that could help the “Team 8 South” community be most successful this year.” This time, students were told that this information would be shared within our learning community so everyone would know what you can and are willing to do for our community of learners. Each community member needs to know who they can turn to when he or she needs a hand.
The list of offers was compiled and it is attached below.
Remember, when you need a hand, there is always someone or somewhere to turn to for help.
